Lazy loadArtifacts found in the cave of the seven sleepers in Jordan. This cave is located near the village Al-Raqim, 10 km east of Amman. The Cave of Seven Sleepers, who were mentioned in the Qur’an in “Suret Al-Kahf” – One of several locations claiming to be the cave where the “seven sleepers” escaped persecution and slept for 309 years. Inside one can see 8 sealed tombs, while above and below the cave are the remains of two mosques. Inside the main cave – also known as Ahl al-Kahf (Cave of the People) – are eight smaller tombs that are sealed, though one has a hole in it through which you can see a creepy collection of human bones. Above and below the cave are the remains of two mosques. About 500m west of the cave is a large Byzantine cemetery, whose tombs are sadly full of rubbish. Seven men lived during the time of a tyrant king who demanded to be worshipped as god incarnate. The seven men believed in One God and so were condemned to death. They fled. Following a small dog, they found refuge in this cave. Here they slept for more than a hundred years (the dog slept at the entrance). When they awoke, one of them went to a village to buy provisions but the money he carried immediately caused interest because it was so ancient. The villagers checked the records and found the judgment still standing against the seven sleepers. Shortly after this they died.
